Welcome to the Elko County Assessor's Blog! In it you will find information that will be useful to you regarding seasonal activities of the office and the various programs which are available through our office. Be sure to check back from time to time so that you can be aware of information which will help you! Questions? Be sure to give us a call at 775-738-5217.

By the way, just as a reminder, all taxes are now paid in the Elko County Treasurer's office, and all vehicle registrations are handled at the Department of Motor Vehicles office at 3920 Idaho St. here in Elko.

It's Nearly Summer!

And that means our business owners will soon be receiving their Personal Property Statement Requests from out office.  Remember to file them on or before July 31st when you receive them and also remember you can now file on line by going to the Assessor home page and selecting on-line Form Filing on the left hand side of the page.  Complete instructions are there.  Last years was the first year we were able to offer this option, and it had a few bugs, but this year, the process should go much better!  If you have questions, you can call at 775-738-5217 and we'll be glad to help.

Summer also means you will be receiving your tax bills in July.  If you haven't received one by the end of July, you can call the Treasurer at 775-738-5694.  If tax bills are less than $100.00 they are always due paid in full the third Monday of August.  If they are over $100.00, the first installment will be due the third Monday in August, the second installment will be due the first Monday in October, the third installment will be due the first Monday in January 2016, and the last installment will be due the first Monday in March 2016.

Have a wonderful summer!
