Owner Occupancy Cards & Rental Affidavits

We will be mailing out pink and white Owner Occupancy Cards which need to be returned to us as soon as possible so that we can make sure each new owner of a residence in Elko County receives the lowest possible tax bill. Be sure to complete the cards and sign them and return them to us as soon as you receive them so we can process them in time to make sure the tax bills printed in July are correct. If you own rental properties, you may still be able to qualify for the maximum tax cap if the rent charged is in line with HUD standards as shown on the affidavits. Be sure and return them as soon as possible so that we can be sure you are paying the lowest possible tax amount on your rental properties.

Agricultural Personal Property Affidavits

Within the last week or so, we have mailed out the personal property affidavits to the ranchers in our county. These forms should be returned to our office by July 31st of this year. For those of you who will file for the first time, this affidavit should be mailed in with a list of any equipment you use to run your agricultural operation. For example, saddles and tack, squeeze cages, powder river panels, and any machinery or equipment you use to run your ranch are all examples of what should be listed on the form. If you have vehicles used for the ranch which are licensed for the road, you need not list them as you are already paying taxes on them when you renew your registration. If you have questions as to how to fill the affidavit out, or about what to put on your personal property list, be sure to give us a call so that we can help you.
