Owner Occupancy Cards & Rental Affidavits

We will be mailing out pink and white Owner Occupancy Cards which need to be returned to us as soon as possible so that we can make sure each new owner of a residence in Elko County receives the lowest possible tax bill. Be sure to complete the cards and sign them and return them to us as soon as you receive them so we can process them in time to make sure the tax bills printed in July are correct. If you own rental properties, you may still be able to qualify for the maximum tax cap if the rent charged is in line with HUD standards as shown on the affidavits. Be sure and return them as soon as possible so that we can be sure you are paying the lowest possible tax amount on your rental properties.

Owner Occupancy Cards!

In the next several days Owner Occupancy Cards will be showing up in the mailboxes of taxpayers who have purchased a new residence in our county. The Owner Occuppancy Card, when properly filled out and returned to this office, assures the maximum tax cap for primary residences. It is a pink and white card, and if you have purchased a home since September 15th of this year, you will receive one. Check primary residence if it is your primary residence, sign it and return it. That will assure you the lowest possible tax bill in the upcoming year. Check rental if you are using the home as a rental, and under certain conditions you may still qualify for the maximum tax cap. Check other and write a brief explanation if the home is neither your premary residence or a rental. If you have any questions, please give us a call and we'll be happy to discuss them with you!
